Georgia native, Roger Burdette, has proudly served Effingham County as District 2 Commissioner since 2018. He is a Navy Veteran and holds a BBA from Valdosta State University. He also received his MBA from Mercer University, while achieving highest honors and maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Roger is an Effingham County small business owner and has been an entrepreneur since 2001, creating and operating several small ventures in the area. He is the father of four and has resided in Effingham since 2003 with his wife Karima and their two youngest children, Zecharia and Priscilla. Karima volunteers in the Effingham school system and local charities and has operated a nearby nursing home ministry for many years. Roger enjoys spending time with his family and attending church locally. When time permits, he is an avid hunter, amateur race car driver and has written and published his first children’s book. Roger and Karima believe that there are few things more important than pouring godly wisdom and morals into the lives of our upcoming generations.
