ABSENTEE BALLOTS WERE MAILED BY A THIRD PARTY CONTRACTED BY THE STATE. INSTEAD OF A  WHITE ENVELOPE, THEY INCLUDED A WHITE SECRECY SLEEVE TO PUT YOUR BALLOT IN. YOU WILL FOLD YOUR BALLOT AND PUT IT INSIDE THE SLEEVE AND THEN PLACE  THE SLEEVE INSIDE THE YELLOW AND WHITE ENVELOPE. YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEAL THE SLEEVE.

ABSENTEE BALLOT FAQ’S

The Secretary of State’s Office sent out Absentee Ballot Applications to all Active registered Voters in the State to help encourage voters to vote by mail , due to COVID-19. Here are some frequently asked questions. If you still have questions please email our office at boe@effinghamcounty.org.

  • If I am over 65 years old and or disabled and I already requested a ballot for March or May, do I need to complete another application?
    • No, if you marked that you were elderly or disabled you will automatically get your ballots for rest of this Election year.
  • If I threw away my application, can I get another one?
  • I did not get an application, why not?
    • You may need to check your registration. CLICK HERE to check your information. You can update your registration until July 13.
  • Where do I put my mailing address on the application?
    • In section 3. If you want to update your address permanently check the corresponding box.
  • How do I know if my application was received or the status of my ballot?
    • CLICK HERE  to login into My Voter Page, then click Absentee Ballot Status.
